Tom Gillespie has gained extensive experience in business development and legal affairs throughout their career. Tom started at J. Craig Venter Institute as a Technology Transfer Associate before moving on to roles at Emergent BioSolutions, where they worked as IP Transactional Counsel, Senior Counsel for Corporate and IP, and Assistant General Counsel. Tom then transitioned to Lupin Pharmaceuticals, where they held positions such as Senior Director of Legal Affairs and Business Development, eventually becoming the Executive Director of Global Business Development at Lupin. Their responsibilities have included leading strategic transactions, corporate finance practices, and HR functions, as well as overseeing venture capital investments and acquisitions within the pharmaceutical industry.
Tom Gillespie attended Boys' Latin from 1995 to 1999. Tom then went on to Villanova University from 1999 to 2001, studying Chemical Engineering. From 2001 to 2003, they attended Virginia Tech, earning a BS in Biochemistry. Finally, from 2003 to 2006, Tom pursued their Juris Doctor degree in Law at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
