Lutheran Family Services
Lutheran Family Services expresses love for all people by providing quality human care services that build and strengthen individual, family and community life. LFS is a faith-based, not-for-profit, multi-service human care organization with locations across Nebraska and in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Whether it’s a little girl who has been abused, or a little boy struggling with his father’s repeated deployments, LFS stands ready to help. On any given day, LFS manages case files for approximately 2,000 children statewide. Thousands more – over the age of 18—also seek the help of LFS therapists, counselors, and specialists. Founded in 1892, LFS celebrates its 125th year of service in 2017 – marking 12 decades of support for all ages, all faiths, and all walks of life. What began as emergency care for orphans is now an organization serving Nebraskans through three areas of core competency: Children Services (125 years); Behavioral Health (38 years); and Community Services (26 years) to new populations. 90% of clients are non-Lutheran.
