Jessica Starr Dombos has a diverse work experience in various roles in communications and media. Jessica started their career at Thistledown, Inc. in 2000, where they worked in customer service and communications/marketing until 2007. Jessica then joined WKYC-TV, initially as an intern and later as a floor director (supervisor) and producer. In 2013, they moved to Nexstar Media Group, Inc. as a senior TV news reporter at JET24 (ABC) & FOX66 until 2015. Since 2016, they have been serving as the director of communications at Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry.
Jessica Starr Dombos holds a Bachelor's degree in Public Communications/Mass Media from Kent State University. In addition, they have obtained an Advanced Crisis Communications Certification from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). Jessica is also a member of the Public Relations Society of America. Jessica has acquired various additional certifications, including A.L.I.C.E. training from the ALICE Training Institute and being a Bridge Builders Graduate from the Cleveland Leadership Center. Furthermore, they have completed Handle with Care Verbal De-Escalation training from the Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry and Narcan/Project DAWN training from The MetroHealth System (Cleveland, OH). Jessica is also certified in PREA by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction (ODRC).

Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry (LMM) is a 54 year-old non-profit providing innovative social enterprise job-training, civic engagement strategies and safety net services for the city of Cleveland and across northeastern Ohio. The mission leads LMM to operate programs that change lives, transform communities and enliven community engagement. We serve through advocacy, convening, and programs, which include Housing & Shelter, Workforce Development, and Health & Wellness Services.
