Jenny Tatum

Director of Volunteer Engagement at LUTHERAN SOCIAL SERVICES OF THE SOUTHWEST

Jenny Tatum has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of volunteer engagement and management. Jenny started their career at the Primavera Foundation in 2006, where they served as a Volunteer & In-Kind Donation Supervisor until 2011. Jenny then joined the American Red Cross as a Volunteer Services Manager, where they implemented onboarding processes, conducted trainings, and managed placement of new volunteers. During their time at the Red Cross, they also served as a liaison to departments in need of volunteers, deployed to national disasters, and organized the annual Volunteer Recognition Awards Event.

In 2016, Jenny joined Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona as a Volunteer Experience Partner. In this role, they recruited and placed volunteers for retail stores, career centers, and special events. Jenny specialized in placing corporate groups and special needs volunteers with job coaches. Jenny also served as the lead administrator of the CERVIS database and assisted in donor development activities.

In 2017, Jenny became the Director of Volunteer Engagement at Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest. Currently, they are working at Preply as an English as a Second Language Teacher, starting in 2019.

Jenny Tatum pursued their Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Arizona from 2002 to 2006. Jenny'smajor fields of study were Family Studies & Human Development and Religious Studies. In 2005, they participated in the National Student Exchange program at Stony Brook University. Furthermore, in 2004, they also took part in the National Student Exchange program at the University of Hawai'i System. Jenny Tatum obtained a certification as a Certified Volunteer Administrator from the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration in January 2010.
