Laurent Fischer

Independent Director at Lycia Therapeutics

Laurent Fischer has been involved in the biotechnology industry for many years. Laurent began their career in 2001 as a board member for the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. In 2005, they founded and became the Chief Executive Officer of Ocera Therapeutics, Inc., a company focusing on gastro-intestinal and liver disease. In 2009, they became the Chief Executive Officer of Tobira Therapeutics, and later assumed the role of Chairman in 2011 and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 2014. In 2016, Tobira was acquired by Allergan for up to $1.7 billion. That same year, Fischer became the Liver Therapeutic Area Head and Senior Vice President of Allergan. In 2017, they were appointed Chairman of the Board of CTI BioPharma, and in 2019 they became an Independent Director of Lycia Therapeutics, a Board Member of Senti Biosciences, and a Board of Directors member of Mirum Pharmaceuticals. Most recently, in 2020, Fischer became the President and Chief Executive Officer of Adverum Biotechnologies, Inc.

Laurent Fischer obtained their M.D. from the University of Geneva between 1982 and 1989, specializing in Medicine.
