James has held roles as a Visiting Research Fellow at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, contributing to advancements in thermoelectrics for space power, and gained early experience as a Materials Engineer Intern at ThermoAura Inc. and various research positions at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. James holds a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering from Northwestern University and a Bachelor's Degree in Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
