Bruce Goldberg has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Bruce is currently serving as the Vice President of Portfolio Strategy at Lyell Immunopharma since September 2018. Prior to this, they held the same position at Juno Therapeutics, Inc. from December 2017 to September 2018. Bruce had a long and successful career at Genentech, where they held multiple roles including Senior Director of Global Product Development Innovation from January 2013 to October 2015, Senior Director of Life Cycle Leader from July 2005 to April 2013, and Director of Commercial Strategy from September 2003 to June 2005.

Goldberg began their professional career as an Executive Search Consultant at Spencer Stuart from September 2000 to August 2003. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Strategy and Business Development at PlanetRx.com from November 1998 to August 2000.

Before transitioning into the business world, Goldberg worked as a Strategy Consultant at McKinsey & Company from October 1996 to October 1998, where they specialized in health care consulting. Prior to that, they worked as a Preventive Medicine Resident at the State of California Epidemiology Investigative Service from July 1994 to July 1996. Goldberg began their career in the US Navy as an Undersea Medical Officer, leading and managing the medical department for navy personnel and their families from August 1989 to February 1994.

Bruce Goldberg completed their Bachelor's Degree in Heath Economics at The Wharton School from 1980 to 1984. Bruce then pursued their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) at NYU School of Medicine, Sackler Institute of Graduate Biomedical Sciences from 1984 to 1988. Finally, they attended UC Berkeley School of Public Health from 1994 to 1995, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Public Health and General Preventive Medicine Residency Program.
