Joel Ruiz

Joel Ruiz is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in operations and risk analysis. Currently serving as Product Ops Lead for Black Car & Livery and Product Operations Lead for Lyft Media since August 2023, Joel has successfully launched a Jira Service Desk that significantly improved response times and streamlined training processes. Prior experience includes roles as Global Risk Analyst at Afterpay, where Joel reduced service level agreements for risk cases, and Senior Operations Associate at Uber, where significant cost reductions were achieved. Joel's background also includes supervisory positions at American Airlines and Alaska Airlines, where a focus on customer service and operational efficiency was paramount. In addition to coaching junior varsity football, Joel has a strong academic foundation with degrees in Political Science and Global Studies from Arizona State University and UC Santa Barbara, respectively.
