David Wilcox has a strong background in product management and program leadership. David currently works as a Product Manager for LYRASIS, where they are responsible for the planning, marketing, and requirement gathering for the Palace Project. David manages the product throughout its lifecycle and works closely with various teams to ensure its success. Prior to that, they were the Program Leader for the open source Fedora Repository software, where they set the vision for Fedora and oversaw key project processes and international outreach efforts.
Before joining LYRASIS, David worked at DuraSpace as a Product Manager for the open source Fedora Repository project, where they performed similar responsibilities and conducted international outreach. David also served as the Program Manager at discoverygarden inc., where they set the vision for Islandora and worked with stakeholders to gather requirements. Additionally, they have experience as an Islandora Training/Support Coordinator at the University of Prince Edward Island and an Information Specialist at TM Entertainment Inc. In earlier roles, they gained experience in legal research as a Reference Intern at Dalhousie University and in library services as a Circulation Clerk for the Government of New Brunswick.
David Wilcox earned a Master's degree in Library and Information Studies from Dalhousie University from 2008 to 2010. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy at St. Thomas University (CA) from 2000 to 2005. In addition to their formal education, David obtained certifications in "Startup Engineering" and "Competitive Strategy" from Coursera in September 2013 and August 2013, respectively.
