Juxi Leitner

Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at LYRO Robotics

Juxi Leitner has a long and varied work experience in robotics and AI. Juxi started in 2010 as a Researcher in Robotics & AI at IDSIA, followed by a Researcher / Teaching Assistant / PHD Student role at USI Università della Svizzera Italiana in 2011. In 2014, they were a Founder of SMRTRobots and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at QUT (Queensland University of Technology). In 2016, they were the Founder of Brisbane.AI (now QueenslandAI). In 2018, they were a Co-Founder at a Stealth Startup. From 2014 to 2021, they held various roles at the Australian Centre for Robotic Vision, including Research Fellow (on leave) & Academic Advisor and Project Lead (Manipulation) & Research Fellow. In 2020, they were a Senior Research Fellow (Space Robotics) & Academic Advisor and Chief Investigator at QUT Centre for Robotics. Since 2019, they have been Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Co-Founder & Board Director, and Managing Director / CEO at LYRO Robotics, where they have led the company from an idea to their first robot prototypes, and from prototype to their first batch of built and deployed robots. Since 2021, they have been a Senior Lecturer (tenured) and Visiting Scientist at Monash University.

Juxi Leitner completed a BSc in Software & Information Engineering at the Technische Universität Wien from 2003 to 2007. Juxi then participated in an Erasmus Exchange Programme in Computer Science at the KTH Royal Institute of Technology from 2005 to 2006. From 2007 to 2008, Juxi Leitner completed a European Master in Space Science & Technology at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg, Luleå University of Technology, and Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan. In 2009, they were a Special Research Student at the University of Tokyo in the Intelligent Space Systems Lab. From 2011 to 2014, Juxi Leitner completed a PhD in Artificial Intelligence & Robotics at USI Università della Svizzera italiana.
