Jarmo Kant has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Jarmo began their career as a Software Engineer at Nokia in 1994, where they worked for four years. Jarmo then moved on to become a Team Leader at Nokia, managing a group of experts designing new features for telecom products. Following this, Jarmo served as a Research Manager for various research projects in the telecom and IP network systems field.
In 2004, Jarmo became a Process Development Manager for Nokia Networks Packet Core organization, responsible for the Product Creation Process. After a year in this role, they transitioned to become an Embedded SW Architect at Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN), where they created embedded SW architecture for the AdvancedTCA hardware platform. Jarmo also collaborated with global partners to define technical requirements for the HW units.
In 2010, Jarmo took on the role of R&D Manager at Nokia MeeGo Computers, leading the Tools Development team and the MeeGo Toolchain project. Jarmo later became a Senior Manager at Nokia, managing a team responsible for providing development tools for the Meego SDK and taking care of process development and architectural design.
In 2015, Jarmo joined Microsoft as a Business Program Manager, working in the Requirements Management area for Lumia Phones R&D and Product Management. Jarmo created large-scale process frames and led development programs with resource and cost management. Jarmo held this position until 2015 when they started working at Tampere University of Technology as a student in Cloud Technologies.
In 2016, Jarmo joined Gelo Oy as a Student/SW Developer, working on the development of new features for a ZenCart-based e-Commerce application. Later that year, they joined M-Files, where they have held multiple roles including Product Manager and Cloud Engineer, specializing in virtualized environments, Microsoft Azure, and .NET framework.
Throughout their career, Jarmo has demonstrated expertise in technology management, project management, and program management.
Jarmo Kant's education history includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Raahe Institute of Computer Engineering, which they obtained from 1990 to 1994.
