Pauline Vaughan

Chief Systems Officer at M-KOPA

Pauline Vaughan is the current Chief Systems Officer at M-KOPA. Prior to this, they served as the Director of Operations at M-KOPA Solar from April 2012 to January 2016. Before that, they were an Associate at Bankable Frontier Associates from March 2011 to April 2012. Prior to that, they were with Musoni.

Before joining M-KOPA, Pauline spent 10 years at Safaricom in a variety of roles. Pauline was first Head of M-PESA Business Operations from May 2010 to December 2010. Pauline then became Head of M-PESA Product Development & Operations in February 2009 and finally Head of M-PESA in September 2006. During their time at Safaricom, Pauline was instrumental in the success of M-PESA, a mobile money transfer service that has transformed access to financial services in Kenya and beyond.

Prior to joining Safaricom, Pauline worked for Sogea-Satom, a French construction company, for 8 years. Pauline started as a Project Manager and later became Contract Manager and Quantity Surveyor.

Pauline is a graduate of the University of Nairobi with a degree in Civil Engineering.

Pauline Vaughan has a BSC in Engineering from the University of Cape Town, and they also attended Arundel School in Harare, Zimbabwe.

They are on a team with David Damberger - Managing Director, Mobility & Labs, Haijo Kuper - COO, and Yesse Oenga - CMO & Managing Director, Africa. Their manager is Jesse Moore, CEO & Co-founder.
