Sam Smith

Sam Smith is the current head of Mobile Engineering at M1 Finance. Prior to this, Sam was the Mobile Software Development Manager at The Parking Spot from July 2016 to April 2020. In this role, Sam managed the mobile development team responsible for building and maintaining customer-facing iOS and Android applications, as well as various internal apps for manual car movements, tracking individual shuttles, and readying valet vehicles.

From August 2011 to July 2016, Sam worked as a Senior Technical Consultant at Solstice (now Kin + Carta), where they developed mobile applications focused on fantastic user experience. During this time, Sam focused primarily on iOS and Android application development.

Before joining the workforce, Sam studied Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from August 2008 to August 2011. During their time as a student, Sam focused their studies in Human-Computer Interaction within the College of Engineering.

Their manager is Steven Gall, VP, Engineering.
