Ilja Arts

Ilja Arts is a distinguished academic with extensive experience in the fields of Systems Biology and Molecular Epidemiology. Since March 2006, Ilja Arts has held various positions at Maastricht University, including Professor of Systems Biology and Professor of Molecular Epidemiology, contributing to the Department of Epidemiology. Ilja Arts has also served as the Scientific Director of the Maastricht Centre for Systems Biology since January 2016 and as a board member for the NWO Domain Science since May 2019. Previous roles include postdoctoral research at Wageningen University and a PhD student at the RIVM National Institute of Public Health. Academic qualifications consist of a PhD in Nutritional Epidemiology from Wageningen University & Research, as well as MSc degrees in Epidemiology from Erasmus University Rotterdam and Human Nutrition from Wageningen University & Research.
