Mike Smith-Simmons

Mike Smith-Simmons is a skilled design professional with extensive experience in packaging and product design. Currently serving as a Senior Technical Designer at Macfarlane Packaging since November 2021, Mike focuses on developing creative solutions that enhance packing operations and improve the unboxing experience in collaboration with clients. As a Co-Founder of Slate North, a product design consultancy, Mike emphasizes client involvement to ensure tailored solutions. Previously, Mike worked at DS Smith in various roles, including Creative Specialist and e-commerce packaging designer, where innovative packaging solutions were crafted for diverse customer needs. Additionally, Mike's background includes a position as a Kitchen Designer at Sheffield Sustainable Kitchens and an MDes degree in Industrial and Product Design from Sheffield Hallam University, complemented by foundational education at Bridlington School Sports College.
