Gary Hill

Process Development Engineer at Machina Labs

Gary Hill's work experience is as follows:

1. Process Development Engineer at Machina Labs (2023-present): Gary teaches robots to perform DSIF and turn metal sheets into complex parts. Gary also trains robots to use different tools for cutting, grinding, polishing, welding, etc.

2. Sensor Systems Engineer at H2scan Corporation (2017-2018): Gary serves as the lead engineer and project manager for hydrogen process monitoring systems. Gary designs gas conditioning systems using mechanical engineering principles and skills, including mechanical design layout, assembly, and hazardous area classification requirements.

3. Development Engineer at HRL Laboratories, LLC (2014-2016): Gary works in the Sensor and Materials Lab, creating new materials. Gary has experience in developing novel thermal barrier materials, designing experiments and apparatuses, managing a high-temperature furnace lab, and working in various lab environments.

4. Research and Development Scientist at QuantumSphere, Inc. (2012-2013): Gary utilizes a patented nano-material manufacturing process to enhance air cathode catalysis for zinc-air battery products. Their work involves research and development in areas such as acid-base chemistry, electrochemistry, mechanical design, coating processes, and environmental testing.

5. Undergraduate Researcher at UC Irvine (2011-2012): Gary conducted research in the Chemistry department, contributing to the development of photovoltaic cells. Gary also worked with the UCI BioMEMS group to design and build an electrospinning apparatus for nanofiber production. Additionally, they had a writing internship at UC Irvine.

Gary Hill attended UC Irvine from 2009 to 2012, where they pursued a double major in Mechanical Engineering and Material Science Engineering. Gary obtained a Bachelor of Science degree.
