Mitchell Watson has a diverse work experience in the field of mechanical engineering. In 2018 and 2020, they worked as a Planetary Sampling and Acquisition Engineering Intern at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where they contributed to projects such as the Europa Lander and Mars2020. Their responsibilities included designing and building a robotic arm and testbed platforms for various tests. From June 2020 to September 2020, Mitchell served as a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow (SURF) at Caltech. In 2021, they joined Panasonic Energy of North America as a Mechanical Engineer I, where they developed automated improvements for machinery, automated cleaning systems, and designed a laser printer enclosure. Currently, Mitchell is working as a Mechanical Engineer at Machina Labs starting in October 2022.
Mitchell Watson completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Mechanical Engineering from Caltech from 2017 to 2021. Following that, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Mechanical Engineering at The Johns Hopkins University from 2022 to 2024. In February 2022, Mitchell obtained the SOLIDWORKS Associate - Mechanical Design certification from Dassault Systèmes.
