Matthew Congdon has been working in the fashion industry since 1997. Matthew started their career as a Menswear Designer for Club Monaco, followed by a similar role at Nautica in 1999. In 2001, they moved to J.Crew as a Menswear Designer - Sweaters. In 2004, they were appointed Design Director - Men's Knits at Perry Ellis International. From 2006 to 2012, they worked at UNIQLO as Design Director, Men's Knits, with the role description including global design director for key men's categories, working closely with Japan/Shanghai office to create concept/color for seasonal deliveries, and innovation development with strategic partners to drive growth/newness in HEATTECH, AIRISM, and Core Assortment Product. In 2012, they moved to Calvin Klein as Global Design Director, Mens Underwear, and since 2016 they have been working at Mack Weldon as Creative Director / Vice President Design.
Matthew Congdon received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design - The New School in 1997, having started their studies in 1994.
