Michele Fumarola

Michele Fumarola is a seasoned professional in the field of artificial intelligence and systems engineering, serving as the Program Manager for the Avans AI Accelerator at Avans University of Applied Sciences since May 2023. As a co-founder and manager at Macomi, Michele provides software solutions leveraging an in-house analytics platform that incorporates AI, simulation, and optimization algorithms. Prior experience includes a Ph.D. researcher role at Delft University of Technology and a researcher position at the Expertise Centre for Digital Media at Hasselt University, focusing on ubiquitous computing and user-centered design. Michele holds a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering and Operations Research from Delft University of Technology and a BSc and MSc in Computer Science from Hasselt University. Additional studies in philosophy are currently being pursued at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
