Edward Ogren

Edward Ogren has a diverse and extensive work experience in the oil and gas industry. Edward started their career as a Summer Engineering Intern at Shell in 1978 and 1979. Edward then worked as a Staff Drilling Engineer at Amoco Production Co from 1980 to 1986, where they gained experience in directional drilling and deep, high-pressure gas wells.

From 1986 to 1988, Ogren worked as a Drill Team Lead at Amoco, planning and implementing a large exploration drilling operation in the arctic offshore Alaska. Edward designed unique techniques to minimize the effects of thermal degradation of ice and dealt with remote arctic logistics.

Ogren continued their career at Amoco as a Senior Drilling Engineer from 1988 to 1990, working on various projects in Kenya, Norway, UK North Sea, Trinidad, and Korea. Edward also worked as an Engineer and Foreman in deep Oklahoma Choctaw Thrust operations, dealing with severely tectonically stressed shales.

In the early 1990s, Ogren served as a Senior Drilling Engineer and Lead Drilling Engineer at Amoco, drilling exploration wells in different locations, including Siberia and Quatar, with a focus on reducing drilling times and cost savings.

From 1994 to 2000, Ogren worked at Amoco as a Lead Drilling Engineer and a Sr Drill Team Leader, operating drilling jack-ups in Egypt and providing support to the Yamal Test well Drilling Program in Siberia. Edward also drilled multiple wells in different locations, such as Priobskoye, Western Siberia, and the Sea of Azov.

In 2000, Ogren joined Nations Energy Corporation as a Drilling, Workover, and Construction Manager, leading construction projects in the Lost Hills field and the Central Plant. Edward then served as the General Director and Drilling and Workover Manager for a subsidiary of Nations Energy in Kazakhstan, reducing the average drilling times substantially. Edward also implemented a $50 MM exploration drilling operation in Papua, Indonesia, managing remote logistics and challenging swamp conditions.

From 2011 to 2016, Ogren worked at Occidental as a Senior Project Manager, leading various teams and projects in Kern Front, North Shafter, and Mt Poso. Edward implemented cost reduction initiatives and coordinated facilities design and construction.

In 2014, Ogren joined California Resources Corporation as a Senior Project Manager, and in 2015, they worked at Blackrock as an Operations Manager for a pilot project in Texas. Edward was responsible for reactivation, facilities, workover, production operations, and environmental cleanup.

Most recently, Ogren joined Macpherson Energy Corporation in 2016 as the Director of Operations for the Round Mountain field. Edward coordinates the workover, drilling, production, and facilities teams, working on an attic steam flood in a dipping reservoir and other production techniques.

Overall, Edward Ogren has a wealth of experience in different roles and locations, demonstrating their strong leadership, project management, and technical skills in the oil and gas industry.

Edward Ogren attended South Dakota Mines from 1976 to 1980, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering with a minor in Geology. In 2014, they also obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
