Mel Cooper

Mel Cooper is an accomplished finance professional with extensive experience in electronic sales and trading within the financial markets. Currently serving as an Electronic Sales specialist in the Futures Division at Macquarie Group since January 2024, previous roles include significant leadership positions such as Chair of the Credit Suisse Australian Women's Network and Head of Electronic/DMA Sales at ASX. Mel’s career began in the early 1990s at the Sydney Futures Exchange and has included diverse roles with Citi and Salomon Smith Barney, focusing on portfolio trading, equity finance, and client advisory. With a strong educational background, including a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia and a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Newcastle, Mel is dedicated to fostering gender equality in the workforce and enhancing market participation across the Asia Pacific region.
