Thomas Burns CPEng has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Thomas is currently working at Mad Paws as a Sustainability & Group Project Manager. Prior to this, they served as a Scrum Master at Mad Paws and A2B Australia Limited, where they facilitated the creation of cross-functional agile teams and drove outcome-focused product roadmaps.

At A2B Australia Limited, Thomas also led the development of a Taxi trip database, resulting in improved fare estimation accuracy. As a Senior Embedded Developer, they implemented systems to increase software development speed and frequency of software rollout.

Thomas was also an Events Coordinator at Young Engineers Australia Sydney, where they provided opportunities for members to develop their business skills. As a Freelance Consulting Engineer, they developed IoT platforms and maintained legacy products.

Thomas'searlier experience includes working as an Electronics Engineer at Topcon Precision Agriculture, designing and developing hardware and software for electronics control units. Thomas began their career at Grantronics Pty Ltd as an intern and progressed to Design Engineer, managing day-to-day operations and designing embedded solutions for clients.

Thomas Burns CPEng attended the University of Technology Sydney from 2006 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. In addition to their degree, Thomas has also obtained various certifications. Thomas became a Chartered Professional Engineer in June 2017 through Engineers Australia. Thomas also holds certifications from Scrum Alliance and Scrum.org, including Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), Professional Scrum Master 1, and Advanced Certified ScrumMaster. These certifications were obtained in May 2020 (CSM, Professional Scrum Master 1, and Advanced Certified ScrumMaster).
