Scott DeLoach has over 20 years of work experience, starting in 1993 as a Senior Technical Writer at Hayes Microcomputer Products. Scott developed documentation, online help, technical specifications, and marketing materials for telecommunications products, and also coordinated translations in multiple languages. From 1996 to 1999, they worked as a Contract Senior Information Developer/UX Designer at NCR. In 1997, they became a Founding Partner at User First Services, where they worked until 2006. In 2002, they joined Adobe as a Certified Captivate Instructor until 2017. From 2004 to 2004, they worked as an Adjunct Professor at Mercer University. In 2006, they became a Certified Flare Instructor at MadCap Software, and later became the Certification Program Manager. Finally, they founded ClickStart, Inc. in 2007.

Scott DeLoach has a strong education background in technical communication and biology, English, and chemistry. Scott attended Berry College from 1987 to 1991, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. During this time, they studied biology, English, and chemistry. Following their undergraduate studies, Scott enrolled at Miami University from 1991 to 1992, where they pursued a degree in Technical Communication.

In addition to their formal education, Scott DeLoach has also obtained several certifications. In November 2008, they received the MadCap Advanced Developer (MAD) certification from MadCap Software, Inc. Scott further enhanced their skillset by obtaining the Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) certification from ATD CI - The ATD Certification Institute in October 2020.
