Marcel Nieuwenhuis has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Marcel started their career as an Ass. Professor at Universiteit Twente in 1985. Marcel then worked as a Senior ICT-Consultant and Interim Manager at BSO (Atos Origin) from 1990 to 1996. Following that, they held managerial positions at BAC Belastingdienst Centrum voor ICT and Dutch Tax - Belastingdienst Centrum voor ICT in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
From 2001 to 2007, Marcel served as the Chief IT Architect at Dutch Police (CIP). Marcel also worked as a Strategic Consultant for Safety, Security, and Crisis Management at Ministerie van BZK from 2006 to 2009. Additionally, they worked at Madhouse Digital Natives as the CTO, focusing on internet development, from 1999 onwards.
Their most recent role was as an ICT-Governance & Enterprise Architecture Principal at Dutch Police - Politie Nederland (VtsPN). In this position, Marcel implemented the ICT-Strategy & Enterprise Architecture for the Dutch Police, leading strategic programs such as application development, data center virtualization, network, telephony, organization redesign, and sourcing.
Marcel Nieuwenhuis is also the Owner/Author of The Art of Management, a management consultancy portfolio, where they have authored several books.
Marcel Nieuwenhuis received a Dr degree in IT & Law - Decision Support Artificial Intelligence from the University of Twente in the period 1985-1989. Prior to that, from 1978 to 1984, they completed a Drs degree in Bestuurskunde, Informatica (extra-curriculair) from the same university.
