Carmela Hughley has a diverse and extensive work experience in the beauty industry. Carmela began their career at Ulta, where they held multiple roles including Regional Business Development Manager, National Salon Educator, and Lead Market Trainer/Manager. At Ulta, they were responsible for training staff, managing budgets, and developing operational and business training.

Carmela then joined DREAMDRY as the Vice President of Operations. In this role, they were responsible for developing and leading a new salon concept, managing store openings, and overseeing various aspects of operations such as leadership development, recruiting, and financial forecasting.

Carmela later joined Dessange International as the Director of Salon Operations Training. Before pursuing higher education, Carmela also acquired a Professional License in Cosmetology/Cosmetologist, General from Roffler Beauty Academy, in 1992 and 1993.
