Fred Craves

Fred Craves, Ph.D. has served on the Board of Directors since July 2016. Previously, he served as Chairman of privately held Madrigal Pharmaceuticals from its inception to merger with Synta Pharmaceuticals Corp. Dr. Craves is a Managing Director and co-founder of Bay City Capital. In the course of his career, Dr. Craves has founded and managed several biotech companies. He previously served on the boards of several private and public companies. His current board memberships include Dermira Inc., where he is lead director, and three private companies, Reset Therapeutics, Grey and White Inc. and Twist Bioscience. Dr. Craves earned a B.S. in biology from Georgetown University, M.S. in biochemical pharmacology from Wayne State University and Ph.D. in pharmacology and experimental toxicology from the University of California in San Francisco.
