Michael Charlton Mbbs

Michael Charlton MBBS, FRCP is a seasoned medical professional specializing in clinical development and transplantation medicine. Currently serving as Senior Vice President of Clinical Development at Madrigal Pharmaceuticals since October 2024, Michael previously held the position of Medical Director at the Transplant Institute at the University of Chicago Medicine from March 2017 to October 2024. Michael's leadership experience includes serving as President of the International Liver Transplantation Society from May 2016 to March 2017 and as Medical Director of the Intermountain Transplant and Regenerative Medicine Center at Intermountain Healthcare from August 2013 to March 2017. Prior to these roles, Michael was the Hepatology Director and Medical Director of Liver Transplantation at Mayo Clinic from 2007 to July 2013. Michael earned an MBBS in Medicine from the University of London between 1981 and 1986.
