Rashid Haider

Head Of Support Services at MAG

Rashid Haider has worked in various roles and organizations throughout their career. Rashid began their career with Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) France in 2005, where they served as a Team Leader in distribution. Rashid then joined the International Catholic Migration Commission (ICMC) as a Team Leader in vocational training in 2006. In this role, they developed annual implementation plans, coordinated with local government offices, and conducted assessments of earthquake-affected communities.

Afterward, Rashid worked for ACTED in multiple positions. Rashid started as a Cashier in 2006 and gradually took on more responsibilities, such as Administrator (Admin & HR Officer) and Admin & Finance Officer. Rashid later served as an Area Finance Manager and Deputy Area Coordinator, implementing community-level programs in the areas of camp management, SGBV, food distribution, infrastructure, and shelter.

In 2012, Rashid became the Deputy Country Director of ACTED, overseeing the organization's operations in South Sudan. In this role, they managed a budget of $30 million and a team of 400 staff members. Rashid also acted as the Acting Country Director when necessary.

Rashid then joined Danish Refugee Council (DRC) in 2016, first as the Head of Support Services in South Sudan. Rashid was responsible for the overall direction and management of support services, including finance, administration, IT, human resources, procurement, and logistics. Rashid also took on similar roles in Yemen and Lebanon, where they managed larger teams and higher budgets.

Currently, Rashid is the Head of Support Services at MAG (Mines Advisory Group) in Iraq. Rashid provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure efficient and effective management of all support services. This includes logistics, finance, human resources, IT, facilities management, and administration, involving strategic planning, financial management, logistics management, and supply chain management.

Throughout their career, Rashid has demonstrated strong leadership, financial management, and logistical skills, working in challenging humanitarian contexts.

Rashid Haider completed their Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Hazara University, Mansehra, Pakistan in the years 2002 to 2005. Rashid then pursued a Master's degree in Development Studies from COMSATS University Abbottabad from 2009 to 2010. During their Master's program, they studied various subjects including sociology, rural development, statistics, and economics.
