Joanne N. Horibe is the Vice-President, Ethics and Chief Compliance Officer at Magna International. Joanne has also served as the Co-Founder and Chair of the Automotive Compliance Roundtable, and as Senior Corporate/Commercial Associate at Baker & McKenzie.

Ms. Horibe has over 27 years of experience in the legal field. Joanne began their career as Legal Counsel at Nortel Networks, where they were responsible for providing legal support to the Corporate Securities Group. Joanne later became the Canadian legal lead for Sales and Marketing, and launched and delivered training modules for 500 Canadian sales and marketing employees on legal aspects of negotiation.

In 1994, Ms. Horibe joined Baker & McKenzie as a Senior Corporate/Commercial Associate. Joanne represented clients in a variety of industries, including banking, insurance, telecommunications, and manufacturing. In 2001, they left Baker & McKenzie to join Magna International as Legal Counsel.

At Magna International, Ms. Horibe has held various positions, including Vice-President, Ethics and Chief Compliance Officer. In this role, they are responsible for developing and implementing ethical standards and compliance programs. Joanne has also served as the Co-Founder and Chair of the Automotive Compliance Roundtable, which is dedicated to raising the bar on ethics and compliance within the automotive sector.

Joanne N. Horibe has a Doctor of Law from Western University, a Certificate in Executive Coaching from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management, and is currently working on their ICD.D from the Institute of Corporate Directors - Directors Education Program at the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management. Joanne also has a Global Executive Leadership Fundamentals certification from INSEAD and a Leadership at the Top Program certification from the Centre for Creative Leadership. Her Honours Bachelor of Arts is in Educational Psychology and English from Western University. Joanne is also certified as a compliance and ethics professional from the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics.
