Ricky grew up in Weymouth Dorset, UK and attended Bournemouth University, receiving his Masters in Electronic and Mechanical design and a PhD in Engineering Management. Working for British Aerospace as a research and development scientist he specialized in Under Water Weapons and Anti Submarine Warfare before joining DEK Printing machines, overseeing the implementation of Surface Mount Technology printer and process technology.
He moved to the United States in 1995 as part of a global expansion of DEK, overseeing the implementation of Global Applications Engineering groups and Managing Corporate Technical Accounts. He also headed up the Advanced Product Development group, focusing on next generation unique and novel product development for surface mount and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
Prior to joining Magna-Power, he served as a global manufacturing consultant within the field of assembly processes the intention of developing new products or techniques to enable next generation product development. Such developments were Nano Technology coatings, high speed tooling systems for chip manufacturing. He holds several patents and has authored papers for IPC Apex convention and several publications and served as a task member for IPC developing SMT Stencil manufacturing guidelines.
His personal interests, are playing soccer, helicopter pilot, NASM certified fitness trainer, NASM certified nutrition specialist and acoustic guitar song writing.
