Ray Sands

Ray Sands is the current Chief Technology Officer at Magnolia Bank. Ray has held this position since April of 2018. Prior to their current role, Ray Sands served as the Senior Vice President and Director of IT at Commonwealth Bank & Trust Company from April 2018 to April 2022. In this role, they were responsible for directing all strategic IT visions, operations, and planning for the department, including major legacy migrations and enterprise projects. Under Ray's leadership, the IT Department turned from a resource-constrained department to one that was able to efficiently exceed all demands companywide.

Ray Sands has a long history of successfully leading teams and implementing change within organizations. Ray has a proven track record of reducing vulnerabilities and increasing efficiencies to save their companies money. Ray is an excellent communicator and has a talent for aligning teams with increased departmental functions. Ray is also skilled in negotiating complex contracts with vendors to ensure renewals with minimal increase to cost and no business disruptions.

Since taking on the role of CTO at Magnolia Bank, Ray has been responsible for overseeing all migrations, including Windows 10, Exchange 2013 – 2019, Windows Server 2019, and SQL migration. Ray has also implemented multiple high-profile processes and procedures, including a Life Cycle Management Policy to predict costs and ensure efficiencies. Under Ray's guidance, the bank has scored the highest number possible for IT management with the FDIC.

Ray Sands completed a Bachelor of Science at the University of Louisville in Computer Information Systems & Business Administration.
