Casey Gordon is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in grant management, communication, and education. Currently serving as Grants Manager at both Magpie Literacy and Reading Reimagined since May 2023, Casey supports grant-related activities, develops communication materials, and collaborates on systems for funder management. Previously, as Grants Writer at VEAP, responsibilities included crafting proposals and maintaining a grants calendar. Prior experience encompasses program management at the University of St. Thomas and a role as Communications and Social Media Specialist at Saint Paul Almanac, in addition to teaching positions at City University of New York. Educational qualifications include an MFA in Creative Writing from The City College of New York and a BA in English from the University of North Dakota.

Magpie Literacy
We are on a mission to unlock the great reader in every child to end illiteracy in our country -- centering the experiences of Black, Latino, and Native American students and students experiencing poverty. We are developing research-based, identity-affirming PK-8+ digital literacy tools that leverage student uniquenesses to help every child master the foundational reading skills needed to become strong, confident readers. We’re currently hiring our founding team of mission-driven individuals committed to helping us develop a scalable, impactful reading product that helps us eradicate illiteracy in America.
