Jayson J. P. is an experienced technology leader currently serving as Interim Head of Engineering and Technical Advisor at Magpie Literacy since November 2024. As the Founder of Breakpointt Studio LLC since March 2018, Jayson specializes in providing innovative technology solutions for business success, including software development and fractional engineering leadership. Previous roles include Senior Director of Product Engineering at Honeycomb.io and Senior Engineering Manager at Coursera, where Jayson led teams to enhance learner engagement. Additional experience encompasses instructional roles in full stack software development at various prestigious institutions and engineering management at Coinbase and Trilogy Education, contributing to numerous successful educational and technology initiatives. Education at Lehman College focused on Computer Graphics & Imaging, which is currently on hold.

Magpie Literacy
We are on a mission to unlock the great reader in every child to end illiteracy in our country -- centering the experiences of Black, Latino, and Native American students and students experiencing poverty. We are developing research-based, identity-affirming PK-8+ digital literacy tools that leverage student uniquenesses to help every child master the foundational reading skills needed to become strong, confident readers. We’re currently hiring our founding team of mission-driven individuals committed to helping us develop a scalable, impactful reading product that helps us eradicate illiteracy in America.
