Tim Lyon

SVP at Maguire Associates

Tim joined the Maguire team in June of 2016 and now serves as Senior Vice President. In his role, Tim oversees the predictive modeling group and helps clients develop data-informed strategies to meet their enrollment goals. Tim works with institutional partners to develop effective financial aid strategies, balance competing institutional priorities, and identify opportunities to enhance recruitment and marketing efforts. He is also responsible for leading new product development initiatives, while maintaining a consistent focus on improving model performance and expanding Maguire’s research methods.

Previously, Tim served as the Vice President for Analytics and Strategy. In addition to helping clients achieve success at the undergraduate level, Tim led initiatives to bring practical applications of the Maguire methodology to the graduate and secondary education spaces as well. While in this role, Tim shared his expertise with various stakeholder populations, serving as a presenter at both the Enrollment Management Association (EMA) and Educate Maine conferences in which he spoke about best practices in data management and analysis, the needs of nontraditional populations such as transfers and adult learners, and how institutions can use limited resources to improve their enrollment management operations.

Tim’s tenure with Maguire began as an analyst. Through this work, Tim gained valuable insight into Maguire Associates’ proprietary modeling approach, but more importantly what challenges institutional leaders face and the tools they have at their disposal to combat those challenges.

Throughout his time with Maguire, Tim has ensured that each of Maguire Associates’ valued partners receives analysis that is customized to their institutional needs and priorities, and strategies are developed with long-term success in mind.

Tim holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Vermont, as well as an M.B.A in Quantitative Analysis.
