Allyson Berent

Allyson Berent has a diverse range of work experience in the field of veterinary medicine and healthcare. Allyson is currently serving as the Chief Development Officer at Mahzi Therapeutics, a position they assumed in December 2022. Prior to this role, they held the position of Co-Director at the Angelman Syndrome Biomarker and Outcome Measure Consortium since January 2021.

Berent has also had a long-standing tenure at The Animal Medical Center, starting in September 2009. During their time there, they held multiple roles including Small Animal Internal Medicine Specialist, Director of Interventional Endoscopy, and Director of the Interventional Endoscopy Program.

From 2017 to July 2022, Berent served as the Chief Operating Officer at GeneTx Biotherapeutics. This position showcased their expertise in veterinary medicine, medical device development, urology, and interventional endoscopy. Allyson graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine and completed their internship at the University of Minnesota.

In terms of academic experience, Berent has worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at The University of Pennsylvania from July 2006 to June 2009. Allyson also held the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor at Matthew J Ryan Veterinary Hospital from 2005 to 2009. Additionally, they gained experience as a Veterinary Rotating Small Animal Intern at the University of Minnesota Veterinary Hospital from 2002 to 2003.

Allyson Berent's education history includes studying at the University of Pennsylvania from 2003 to 2009, focusing on Veterinary Medicine.
