Simon Malkowski

Chief Strategy Officer at Mailchimp

Simon Malkowski is the Chief Strategy Officer at Mailchimp. Prior to their current role, they were a Managing Director and Partner at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) from April 2012 to March 2020. During their time at BCG, Simon helped their client companies develop and execute strategies that increased revenue, expanded their reach and distribution, helped them enter new markets, and transform their business for long-term growth. Simon also created and executed SAAS subscription, pricing, commercial, and growth & acquisition strategies. In addition, Simon has helped companies create strategy offices, execute revenue management and sales maturity programs, and implement large-scale change efforts globally.

Prior to BCG, Simon was a Graduate Research Assistant at the Georgia Institute of Technology from July 2007 to April 2012. While there, they managed a DARPA research project using Artificial Intelligence to analyze document access patterns to automatically extract high-value content and derive user access models for proprietary tools. Simon also provided technical leadership to a research team focused on experiment-based analysis of enterprise application performance in Cloud Computing environments, pioneering the development of automated cloud provisioning.

Simon has also held internships at IBM in Germany as an Infrastructure Engineer and at Locom Consulting in Germany as a Logistics Consultant.

Simon Malkowski studied computer science at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where they earned their PhD and MS.

They are on a team with and Lauritz Adriansen - VP, Finance. Simon Malkowski reports to Rick Lynch, Chief Financial Officer. and Michael Love - VP of Revenue Management reports to Simon Malkowski.
