Karen Walsh

Karen Walsh has extensive work experience in the field of data science and healthcare analytics. Karen has held various leadership positions in several well-known organizations. From 1999 to 2008, they worked at Independence Blue Cross as an Informatics Manager- Analytics. Following this, they joined UnitedHealth Group and served as the Director of Research and Methods from 2008 to 2017. In 2022, they worked at Blue Health Intelligence as the Principal Methodologist and Healthcare Analytics Leader. Later that year, they joined CVS Health as the Executive Director of Data Science. Currently, they work at Main Line Health as the System Director of Performance Measurement, Improvement & Analytics. Additionally, they have also held roles at Thomas Jefferson University as a Lecturer and as the Program Director of Health Data Science and Assistant Professor. Overall, Karen Walsh has a strong background in data science, research, and healthcare analytics with over 20 years of experience in the industry.

Karen Walsh has a Doctor of Health Science (DHSc) degree with a focus on Statistics and Data Science from the University of Indianapolis. Karen also holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Predictive Analytics/Statistics from Northwestern University. In addition, Karen has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Penn State University and a Bachelor's Degree from Dickinson College. Karen is also an Accredited Professional Statistician™ (PStat™) obtained from the American Statistical Association (ASA) in April 2021.
