John Taylor

John Taylor is an experienced engineering professional with a diverse background in electrical and computer engineering. Currently serving as the Network Development Manager at MainPower New Zealand Limited since June 2021, John focuses on identifying new technologies and improving the North Canterbury electricity distribution network through project development and scoping. Prior to this role, John gained extensive experience at Mitton Electronet Ltd from May 2007 to June 2021, advancing from Assistant Engineer to Team Lead and Senior Electrical Engineer, overseeing major projects and leading engineering teams. Educational credentials include a Master’s Degree and two Bachelor’s Degrees from the University of Canterbury, in Electrical and Computer Engineering and Physics, respectively.
