Hassan Basil Hassan

Hassan Basil Hassan is the current General Counsel at Majid Al Futtaim. Prior to this, they served as the General Counsel - Asia | Middle East | Africa at Mars from December 2010 to July 2020. Hassan has also worked with GE Healthcare as an Associate General Counsel from January 2007 to December 2010 and with Dubai Holding as the Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs, Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park (DuBiotech) from May 2005 to January 2007.

Hassan was recruited to be Dubai Biotechnology and Research Park’s first in-house lawyer and part of the senior leadership team after funding of $1 billion for construction and launch. At DuBiotech, Hassan reported to the Executive Director, and supported briefings to the Director General of the Technology and Media Free Zone Authority, and Dubai Holding's Board of Directors.

As a member of the initial leadership team, Hassan was charged with development and implementation of the legal and regulatory framework governing biotechnology in areas including stem cell research and clinical trials, for the Emirate of Dubai.

Hassan Basil Hassan has a JD from Saint Louis University School of Law, an Executive Certificate in Management and Leadership from the MIT Sloan School of Management, a Certificate in Executive Leadership from the Cornell Johnson Graduate School of Management, and a BA in Political Science from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis. Hassan also attended the American School of Kuwait.

They are on a team with Samar Elmnhrawy - SVP, Human Capital, Amer Lahham - Head of Strategy, and Khaled El Chidiac - CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Global Solutions.. Hassan Basil Hassan reports to Alain G. Bejjani, CEO, Majid Al Futtaim Holding.
