Mike Ward

Mike Ward, CWE, CSS, CS, WSET L2 Wine has a diverse range of work experience in the beverage industry. Mike is currently the Director of Learning and Development at Breakthru Beverage Missouri, where they oversee training and professional development initiatives. Prior to this role, Mike co-owned Ward on Wine, a wine consulting and education business. Mike is also an On-Air Radio Contributor for The Big 550 KTRS, where they share their expertise on wine. Mike has served as a Guest Lecturer at the University of Missouri-Columbia, sharing their knowledge with students. Mike previously worked as a State Wine Educator at Major Brands, providing education and training on wine products. Mike started their career as the General Manager at Remy's Kitchen & Wine Bar. Throughout their career, Mike has acquired certifications such as CWE, CSS, CS, and WSET L2 Wine.

Mike Ward has a diverse education history in the field of wine and spirits. Mike obtained their Certified Sommelier certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers, Americas in January 2006. In May 2009, they achieved the Certified Wine Educator (CWE) certification from the Society of Wine Educators. Additionally, they obtained the Certified Specialist of Spirits certification from the same institution. Mike continued to expand their knowledge by earning the WSET Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust in November 2012. Furthermore, they became a Certified Sherry Wine Specialist in August 2019 through the House of Lustau and the Regulatory Council of Jerez-Xeres - Sherry DO.
