Chris McGowan

Chris McGowan currently serves as the Executive Vice President and Chief of Club Performance at Major League Soccer, a role assumed in June 2023. Prior to this position, McGowan was the President and CEO of Ilitch Sports + Entertainment from December 2021 to March 2023, overseeing the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Tigers, 313presents, and District Detroit. From November 2012 to November 2021, McGowan held the title of President and CEO of the Portland Trail Blazers. Earlier in the career, McGowan was the Chief Operating Officer at AEG from July 1996 to October 2012. Chris McGowan earned a degree from the University of Delaware between 1992 and 1996.
