As Senior Vice President of Match Business at Major League Soccer and Soccer United Marketing, Jon Sheiman leads the game day management of SUM’s international event properties, including the Federación Mexicana de Fútbol, Concacaf, and LIGA MX. His department manages venue relationships, city partnerships, ticket sales, marketing/communications and promotion of all SUM events.
Prior to joining MLS/SUM, Sheiman was the Managing Partner of Relevent Sports. A co-founder of the business, Sheiman led the development of the International Champions Cup tournament. He was responsible for delivering record-breaking attendance and revenue figures for soccer events around the globe, including nine of the top-attended club soccer events in U.S. history. From 2012-2018, Sheiman’s team at Relevent managed the pre-season programs for the biggest clubs in Europe, including Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool, FC Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Before his time at Relevent, Sheiman was a lead agent within CAA Sports’ soccer division and managed match, brand and grassroots activities for Chelsea FC, Juventus and Celtic FC among others.
Sheiman and his wife Carolyn reside in Summit, New Jersey with their three children. He earned his BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and a Master’s degree in Sports Administration from Ohio University.
