Gaurang Shetty has extensive work experience in innovation, entrepreneurship, and community building. In 2010, they became the Chief Innovation Catalyst and CEO of RiiDL, where they facilitated over 70 startups and created over 300 full-time jobs. In 2015, they founded and organized India's Biggest Maker Movement, Maker Mela, which attracted over 300 innovators and entrepreneurs, as well as 50,000 visitors, mentors, and investors. Since 2017, Gaurang has been the Community Head of Facebook Developer Circles Mumbai, a program aimed at creating locally organized communities for developers to educate and share knowledge.

Gaurang Shetty has a diverse education history. Gaurang obtained a Diploma in Industrial Electronics from Vivekanad Education society Polytechnic from 2004-2007. Gaurang then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering from K.J.Somaiya College of Engineering from 2007-2010. In 2012, they completed the Undergraduate Analog Design Course at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. From 2013-2016, Gaurang pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a specialization in Management Information Systems at K.J.Somaiya Institute of Management studies and Research. Gaurang also attended Fab foundation, Center for Bits and Atoms MIT USA in 2016-2017, completing a Diploma in Digital Fabrication, focusing on How to Make Almost Anything. Additionally, Gaurang is currently a PhD candidate in General Management at K J Somaiya Institute of Management. Gaurang has also obtained certifications such as Juniper Networks Certified Associate, Junos (JNCIA-Junos) from Juniper Networks in 2013, and Facebook Certified Digital Marketing Associate.
