Mechanical Test Engineer at MakerBot

Christina Santa Lucia has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Christina began their career as a Researcher at the National Science Foundation where they conducted research at the University of Connecticut. Christina then worked as an intern at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, focusing on materials engineering and investigating topics such as polymer-derived ceramics and nanofabrication.

Following their internship, they joined EN-POWER GROUP as an Energy Engineering & Auditing Intern, collaborating with energy engineers and clients to conduct energy audits and formulate building energy models. Christina also worked at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory as a Graduate Intern in the Materials Engineering Division, promoting new characterization techniques for composite materials, and as a Department of Energy Intern, investigating additive-manufactured materials and heat exchanger design.

Most recently, Christina worked at BloombergNEF as a U.S. Power Research Analyst. In this role, they analyzed short-term trends in North American power markets and prices, used Python for data analysis, and produced research reports on power markets in Texas and California. Christina is currently working as a Mechanical Test Engineer at UltiMaker, where they are responsible for testing mechanical components.

Christina Santa Lucia pursued their education in the field of Mechanical Engineering. In 2015, they enrolled at the University of Connecticut, where they completed their Bachelor's degree in 2019. As part of their undergraduate studies, Christina also had the opportunity to participate in an exchange program at UNSW in 2017, further enriching their knowledge in Mechanical Engineering.

Continuing their academic journey, Christina joined Columbia University in 2019 to pursue a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, which they completed in 2020.

Additionally, Christina obtained a certification in Linux Commands & Shell Scripting Basics from edX in January 2023.
