Lap Leung, GAICD has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various roles and industries. Lap is currently the Director of Sales and Industry Schools Program at Makers Empire, where they collaborate with educators to enhance students' design thinking skills and integrate 3D printing into the curriculum. Lap also works with industry and government to promote students' career pathways. Lap Leung is a Co-founder of Makers Empire as well. Previously, they founded Lapmen in 2013. Before that, they were a Co-founder of nepchin.com from 2007 to 2014. Lap Leung also has experience at SMS Management & Technology, where they served as a Management Consultant from 2006 to 2013. Lap also held other positions at SMS, including HR Manager - Asia, NSW Regional Lead Web Strategy & Information Architecture, and Site Leader. Prior to that, they worked as a Gaming Engineer and Project Manager at Gaming Laboratories International - Australia from 2003 to 2005. Lap Leung began their career at the Department of Defence as a Project Manager and Systems Engineer from 2000 to 2003.

Lap Leung, GAICD, holds a Diploma in Company Directors Course from the Australian Institute of Company Directors, which was obtained in 2010. Prior to this, Lap Leung pursued an MBA at Chifley Business, completing the degree in an unspecified year. Further, Lap Leung earned a Masters in Engineering (T&E) from the University of South Australia in 2005, a Graduate Certificate in Management (Technology Management) from Deakin University in 2001, and a Bachelor of Engineering (Elec) from the University of Adelaide in 1999.
