Lauren Hess

Lauren Hess is currently a Community Specialist at Maker's Row. Lauren previously worked as a Production Assistant at Christopher John Rogers from June 2020 to July 2020. There, they assisted the production manager, located and organized production patterns, measured production samples, ordered and prepared production labels and tags, sourced production fabric and trim, cut and marked pattern pieces, sewed prototypes, and helped finalize and add details to final runway pieces. From June 2018 to March 2020, Lauren worked as a Designer at HATCH. There, they created seasonal presentation boards, sourced color and print samples, identified seasonal fashion direction and merchandise trends, presented hand sketches by fabrication to the CEO and VP of Design, created and maintained seasonal linesheets by factory, managed fabric, yarn and sample tracking, scheduled weekly product development status meetings, approved lab dips, strike-offs, wash panels, mock-ups and other artworks, draped fabric and trims for factory or design presentation, created and passed design cards to tech design for tech pack creation, reviewed and updated tech packs through dev to bulk, attended fittings and assisted the technical designer, relayed all fit comments and design details to factories in NY and overseas, merchandised all SMS for presentations and market in the showroom, managed seasonal pass-off meetings to production, and designed new product lines - including logos and labels.

Ms. Hess earned their undergraduate degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing from Montclair State University, graduating cum laude. Lauren then went on to earn their graduate degree from the same school in the same field of study.

Lauren Hess reports to Matthew Burnett, CEO. Some of their coworkers include Nick Leritz - Owner, Developer, Manager, Lauren Cruz - Customer Service Manager, and Mauro Casas Balsamello - Lead Engineer.
