Juan Urdaneta

Juan Urdaneta has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Juan is currently a Managing Director at Makor Group, a position they started in March 2022. Prior to that, they held the role of Vice President of Development at Universidad Metropolitana (VE) starting in February 2021. Juan Urdaneta also served as an Advisory Board Member at CUNEF from April 2022.

In 2012, Juan Urdaneta became a Wharton Emeritus Executive Board member at The Wharton School. Before that, they held the position of Vice Chairman and former Chairman at the British Venezuelan Society from May 2008 onwards. Additionally, they have experience as a Managing Director at DeepWell Liquidity Management from December 2017 until February 2022.

Juan Urdaneta worked as a Managing Director at TP ICAP from March 2016 to May 2017, specifically in Mirexa Capital. Juan also served on the Board of Trustees at Canning House from November 2010 to November 2016.

Furthermore, Juan Urdaneta worked at ICBC Standard Bank Plc as the Head of Financial Institutions, where they led global fixed income sales to financial institutions and developed strategic relationships with ICBC offices worldwide. Juan traveled extensively to develop new business opportunities in various countries.

In addition to their professional roles, Juan Urdaneta was a Fellow at the Americas Business Council from May 2011 to May 2014. This nonprofit organization provided a platform for emerging leaders in the region to address pressing challenges and create positive change in their organizations and communities.

Juan Urdaneta pursued their education with a strong focus on business administration and finance. Juan completed their Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Universidad Metropolitana in Venezuela from 1992 to 1997. Prior to that, they attended Colegio San Ignacio de Loyola from 1979 to 1992, where they earned their high school diploma.

After completing their undergraduate studies, Juan Urdaneta further expanded their knowledge by attending The Wharton School from 2000 to 2002. During this period, they obtained an MBA degree specializing in Finance, Strategic Management, and Entrepreneurship.

Additionally, Juan Urdaneta obtained the Certified Cash Manager (CCM) certification in August 1998 from the Association for Financial Professionals, further enhancing their expertise in the field.
