Alaa Murabit is a prominent leader in global health policy and advocacy, currently serving as the Director for Global Policy, Advocacy & Communications at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, managing a substantial portfolio of approximately $350 million. With extensive experience at the United Nations, Alaa holds multiple significant roles, including High-Level Commissioner for Health Employment and Economic Growth and Sustainable Development Goals Global Advocate, where efforts focus on promoting health and economic growth as well as achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. As a founding leader of The New Now and a board member at Malala Fund, Alaa empowers future leaders to address global challenges. Alaa's commitment to women's rights is exemplified through founding The Voice of Libyan Women and involvement in various organizations dedicated to peacebuilding, social equity, and sustainable development. Alaa holds a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Zawia, a Master's in International Strategy & Diplomacy from LSE, and was a Radcliffe Fellow at Harvard University.
