Vasumathi Balan

Vasumathi Balan has a diverse work experience spanning across multiple industries and roles. Their most recent position is as the Regional Talent Capability and Performance Lead for APAC and MEA at Mammoet, where they started in September 2023. Prior to this, they worked as the Leader of Talent Transformation, Leadership Development, Employee Engagement, and OD at Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation from October 2022 to September 2023.

Before joining Mammoet and APU/APIIT, Vasumathi held the position of Senior Manager of Talent and Organization Development at Ingram Micro from March 2020 to April 2021. Vasumathi also worked at Motorola Solutions as the Talent Acceleration & Development Lead for APAC from January 2018 to May 2020, and as the Learning and Development Lead from July 2016 to January 2018.

Vasumathi's previous experience includes roles at Maxis Berhad as the Learning and Development Specialist from February 2015 to July 2016, and at Nissan Motor Corporation as the Regional Sales Training Manager & Development from February 2008 to May 2014, and as the Regional Sales Training & Development Manager from December 2008 to September 2010.

Vasumathi began their career as an Assistant Operations Manager (HRBP) at Qualitas Medical Group Pvt Ltd. from May 2006 to May 2008. Prior to that, Vasumathi worked as a Designing Architect from November 2004 to April 2006 and as a Sales Advisor at Shell from January 2002 to September 2004.

Vasumathi Balan received a Master's degree in MBA from Nottingham Trent University in the years 2009 to 2012. Vasumathi also obtained a CLDP, Level 3 qualification from CIPD in 2012. Earlier, they completed their undergraduate degree in Architecture from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia between 1996 and 2000. In terms of additional certifications, Vasumathi obtained several qualifications including EQ-i2.0 & EQ 360 from MHS ASSESSMENTS in 2021, Creating Leadership Development Programs from ATD Nebraska in 2019, and Certified Leadership Potential Assessment and 360 coach certifications from Korn Ferry in the same year. Vasumathi also holds a Certificate in Talent Management from XLRI Jamshedpur in 2018.
