SALES TEAM MANAGER / COACH

The Sales Team Manager/Coach will collaborate with key leaders on the sales team to manage/coach employees to perform effectively in support of sales tactics and initiatives that enable continuous revenue growth. The ideal candidate has a history of solid people management skills and successful sales accomplishments. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with head of sales and regional managers to understand sales goals/objectives
  • Serve as an approachable, patient and engaging teacher/coach to:
    • Identify training needs in regards to products, sales tactics, budtender education, etc. and follow-up to provide training
    • Understand individual motivational factors and leverage these for results
    • Find new and creative ways to motivate performance
    • Demonstrate and model desired behaviors/performance approaches/interactions
  • Develop and coach sales team members to successfully:
    • Sell a full portfolio of products
    • Adjust to changing market conditions and achieve evolving sales targets
    • Utilize skills to enable sell-in and sell-through at retail locations
    • Work at a consistent standard and demonstrate key competencies necessary for the role
  • Communicate effectively to understand individual needs and utilize specific individual knowledge to grow and support team members
  • Hold team members accountable and document performance issues when needed
  • Manage budget related to team
  • Coordinate with marketing team on events throughout the states
  • Be the champion of our company, mission and brand
  • Comes to the table with a variety of solutions to problems
  • Support planning and coordination with key sales leaders, marketing, product and operations to help create and deliver consumer unique experiences
  • Travel as necessary to perform 1:1s, do ride alongs, attend events, etc.

Education and Experience:

  • Experience developing and managing sales team members in a high-growth environment
  • Experience supporting retail accounts with exceptional sales service and follow up
  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment with minimal systems support
  • Exceptional people development skills, including motivating others
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across functions to achieve buy-in and gain support for sales efforts
  • Proactive approach to learning about customer needs/wants and collaborating to deliver desired service/products
  • Preferred:
    • Related experience in cannabis, wine and spirits and/or CPG
    • Similar experience managing sales professionals in a high growth entrepreneurial company
    • Sales pitch skills
